Julius (J.) Tar, the youngest son of Laszlo Tar, is the creator and curator of this site and the founder of TIS Publishing.
J. Tar began working with his father's art in 1983. In 1993, he used his technical skills to bring his father's art online, achieving outstanding success with an early Internet audience. He later made his father's art more accessible by starting a publishing business that produced fine limited-edition prints of the original works and other specialty products featuring the art imagery. By mastering flat art photography and closely studying his father's diverse art collection, Julius developed a deep understanding and appreciation of his father's work and personality.
Through their extensive travels and close relationship, Julius was deeply inspired by his father's creative insights and wisdom. He gained a profound appreciation of aesthetics from his father's artist perspective, which influenced his own views and values.
J. Tar's background is varied, with formal training and extensive work in the entertainment industry at companies like MTV, Nickelodeon, Polygram Records, and Universal Music. He has worked broadly in computer technology, photography, image science, fine art, and music.
Though J. Tar is not a visual artist, he is an original music artist. His music tells stories that are said to stylistically align with his father's fine art in some ways, carrying forward his father's creative inspiration in a transformative manner.
Much like Laszlo Tar's art, J. Tar's original electronic-pop music reflects life experiences and authentic stories.
The music is available on streaming services, such as Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Apple Music, and Bandcamp under the musician title JTAR.
