This piece captures a vibrant watercolor of the New York City skyline as seen from the Hoboken shoreline.
The Hudson River is a dynamic jade hue, flowing in the foreground, adorned with boats that gently float by. In the background, the colorful skyline stretches across the horizon, with the iconic Empire State Building standing proudly to the right. The sky, a fresh and light blue, provides a perfect contrast to the bustling cityscape and the serene river.
The scene is viewed from Frank Sinatra Drive, near Castle Point Park in Hoboken, New Jersey. Dad chose this vantage point for its stunning perspective.
Frank Sinatra, born in Hoboken, lends his name to the drive that runs along the Hudson River waterfront, an area that has inspired my father numerous times since as early as 1962. Back then, the waterfront was mainly industrial.
Dad's brushstrokes convey not just a view, but a feeling, a moment suspended in time, reflecting the vibrant energy of New York and the nostalgic charm of Hoboken.

On this day in 2008, Dad was 86 years old. Mom recently passed away and Dad came to live with my wife and me in Huntington, Long Island, New York. We drove together to find this beautiful spot on a warm early March day, on Sinatra Drive.
