Description
One of my favorite pieces from my father's collection is this enchanting work that captures my sister Julia, then just five years old, diligently doing her schoolwork at a desk set against the backdrop of a traditional Hungarian wall tapestry.
This piece, created in Hungary in 1954, holds a special significance as it was one of the few small works that my parents were able to bring with them when they escaped from Hungary (1956), leaving behind a larger collection of Dad's early art.
On this day, way back in 1954, Dad uncovers a special love for his daughter in The School Girl. ❤️
