This work captures the enchanting beauty of the Gapstow Bridge in Central Park, New York City, during early spring.

The grass is turning a vibrant lime green, while the trees remain bare, their branches stretching skyward. Two figures, accompanied by their loyal dogs, walk away from the bridge towards the serene pond. The water's surface mirrors the trees and the bridge, creating a mesmerizing reflection. The city's skyline rises in the background, grounding this tranquil natural scene in its urban setting.

Dad had a profound love for painting and drawing in Central Park and all around New York City. Our family often spent weekends in the park, enjoying its myriad sights and sounds. However, it was on his solitary visits that he truly immersed himself in his art, capturing moments like this with such vividness and emotion.

The Gapstow Bridge, a beautiful structure designed by Howard and Caudwell and completed in 1896, is one of the enduring charms of Central Park. This piece reflects Dad's ability to blend the hustle and bustle of city life with the peaceful, almost timeless beauty of nature, highlighting his unique perspective and deep connection to his surroundings.
