This piece shows a winding road cutting through the serene landscape of Central Park in late winter.

The bare trees stand tall against a light blue sky filled with puffy clouds, and a lone car travels down the road. On a hill to the right, a solitary figure walks, perhaps taking in the quiet beauty of the park. The scene captures a moment of calm and reflection, a snapshot of the everyday tranquility found in the heart of New York City.

Our family’s journey to the United States began in 1956 when we arrived at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, after escaping the turmoil of Communist Hungary. By 1960, we had settled into a small uptown apartment in Spanish Harlem, New York City.

This piece is among Dad's early collection after our arrival in the United States, reflecting both his European roots and the new American landscapes that inspired him.

On this day in 1960, Dad found a spot on the side of the road and romanticized The Road Home. ❤️
