The scene is a unique and wonderful view of the heart of New York City - as viewed from Union Square (14th Street & Broadway). Dad loved to paint and draw throughout New York City. He would travel by foot and by public transportation to find his scenes. On this day, he asked permission to do his work on the rooftop of a Union Square building, overlooking Broadway.

The view is looking uptown toward the Empire State Building with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Tower to the front and right of the Empire State and Union Square Park direct below.

The street on the left, heading up toward the Empire State Building, is Broadway, forking up to 5th Avenue.

What a perfect scene of the city skyline, with those happy clouds and the streets of Manhattan below, From Union Square. ❤️
