I still remember the day Dad brought home this stunning marine piece, capturing the raw power of a stormy sky and the serenity of Huntington Harbor on the north shores of Long Island, New York.

The view, so vividly depicted, is none other than from Mill Dam Road in historic Halesite, New York - a place that holds a special significance for our family.

Halesite, named after the American Revolutionary War hero Nathan Hale, is more than just a historic picturesque harborside community in north Huntington, Long Island. It's where Dad called home, and where I have countless memories of walking alongside him, taking in the sights and sounds of the harbor.

What makes this piece truly special is that Dad lived just a short stroll from this very spot. You can almost feel the nostalgia and love he had for this place, poured into every brushstroke. It's as if he's sharing a piece of himself, of our family's history, with us through his art, through his eyes, and through his heart.

On this day in 1989, Dad found a moment's inspiration while wondering how this vessel came ashore in The Storm. ❤️
