Description
This work beautifully captures the delicate and vibrant arrangement of roses and tulips.
The roses, painted in a spectrum of reds, pinks, and yellows, bring a burst of color that contrasts wonderfully against the light brown backdrop. A crystal vase holds the bouquet with an elegance that elevates the entire piece. The dark brown base grounds the painting, adding depth and balance.
As Dad grew older, going outside to paint became increasingly challenging for him. I was often away, working long hours at my office job, which sometimes required travel. To keep his creative spirit alive, I would assemble flower arrangements for him on the weekends, some with flowers from Mom's incredible English-style Garden. These arrangements kept him occupied throughout the week, and each new set of flowers inspired a fresh series of paintings.
On weekends, we spent countless hours together, reviewing his latest works. It was a wonderful time, creating a unique bond between us. He taught me how to arrange the flowers just the way he liked, allowing me a glimpse into his artistic vision. Our teamwork in these moments created a special connection that is unforgettable.
On this day in 2000, Dad was 78 years old. He found perfect beauty in The Rose Bouquet. ❤️
