Throughout history, the theme of Bathers has been painted, drawn, printed, and sculpted.

Bather - 8th Century BCE
The earliest artifacts are from at least the Iron age - 8th Century BCE - but probably even much earlier, and then followed much later by the Europeans - Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Edgar Degas, George Seurat, Auguste Renoir, Ludwig Kirchner, Picasso, and onward by so many others.
Dad was a formally educated artist. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary. He knew all about art history, had his favorite artists, and knew what they created. Possibly because others made art with this theme, Dad wanted to do so also, but he rarely created his work entirely from imagination. He has only a few woodcuts, a few paintings, and some limited drawings that are wholly imagined. However, I know he loved drawing, especially figures (people), so to me, that is more what this piece is about - Love. ❤️
Whatever his motivations, we can sense Dad's happiness and enjoy how the ladies of his mind are in full motion, joyfully splashing about in the blue water with that red rowboat and the flowering grass.
It's a perfect day in Dad's world and forever wonderful for the Bathers. ❤️
Through My Father's Eyes
